The Afresh difference
Too often, psychiatric care means a rushed visit, a new prescription and little else. Afresh was built to work differently. Jessica gets to know the person behind the diagnosis, explains the reasoning behind every recommendation, and stays with you as your care evolves.
We begin with a conversation, not a checklist, so your concerns, experiences and goals help guide your care.
You'll know the reasoning behind each recommendation and what to expect as we work toward your goals.
We consider sleep, stress, relationships, daily routine and other factors that affect your well-being.
Culturally responsive care that respects your background, values and lived experience.
Mental health care for ages 12–65.
Not sure where your concerns fit? That's what the first visit is for.
The first evaluation focuses on understanding you, your history and your goals to build a treatment plan that fits your needs.
Follow-up visits provide an opportunity to assess your progress, answer your questions and adjust your treatment plan if needed. Supportive conversation is built into every visit.
A second opinion, help clarifying a diagnosis, or a review of your current medications.
ADHD evaluations, plus lab-guided (GeneSight) medication support when it's clinically appropriate.
Back-to-school mental health evaluations and pre-op mental health clearances for surgery. These services are private pay and are not billed through Headway.
How it works
Pick a time on Jessica's Headway page. Headway checks your insurance coverage up front, or you can choose self-pay.
Your first visit is a full evaluation, from anywhere private in Texas.
Follow-up visits keep your care on track, with every change explained along the way.
Jessica is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and the founder of Afresh Psychiatry & Wellness. She has spent nearly 20 years in psychiatry, more than five of them prescribing, across a wide range of psychiatric care settings.
As Jessica puts it, "Feeling like your diagnosis is the only thing anyone wants to talk about can be its own kind of lonely." Her approach pairs careful medication management with real conversation. She helps you examine thoughts that feel like facts, tests small changes between visits, and explains the why behind every adjustment.
“I want you to feel heard the first time we talk, not just managed.”
